Sometimes the obvious slips by us, so I'll take a moment to state it here for this thread. When you get a referral, never ever forget to thank the person who made it happen for you. I feel like I've made this mistake!

Of course it's important to do so at the time, but it's also a good practice to re-visit with that person, especially if the referral turns into new business for you. I'll be going to see a new client in the near future which came to me by way of referral from a mutual contact we have. My lesson: As soon as I made my travel plans, I made sure to carve out some time to buy lunch for the mutual contact that referred us. Who knows... maybe he'll have another contact for me!

What experiences have you all had with referral sources?

It helps to pay referral sources. As much as you can afford. There's nothing better than having a little army of referral sources out working for you everyday. Don't bite the hand that feeds you.

Thanks and have a blessed day!

Isn't it nice to get a customer to refer someone to you? In your e-mail list, you can create a folder for referrals. In this list you create a letter that is automatically mailed to your customer, thanking them for the referral. This is called an AUTO-RESPONDER e-mail. This way, your customer receives thanks from you for sending a customer your way. This allows you to thank them all the time, without the chance of forgetting. You then can call them later to thank them and build your loyalty bonds. Each customer is like gold, and your thoughtfulness will deliver more and more referrals. Good Luck.

Best Wishes.........Hurricanemurph............

we figuired out it costs roughly 500 dollars to set up an acount for a new client. What we do for referrals. We send the person a  coupon worth 25 dollars off the next visit. When the referral purchases from us we send a check for 25 dollars to the person who referred them to us. We also give the new client a 25 dollar  coupon for this visit.

We just started this, one of my clients has received 200 dollars,   100 dollars worth of coupons and a 100 dollar check sent to them.

I personally  call the client to thank them whenever I get to go to a referrals home . I also call to thank the person for the work and sales we received from them.

I developed a couple of working habits that has given me an average referrak ratio of 20-30% of my leads....

I thank my clients IN ADVANCE for any referrals, and  tell them I will handle them with the same VIP treatment as themselves!

Then I add

"I will leave some business cards, and if call me when you refer someone I will be ready to take good care of them, and not let you down!

Because as you know, the best business deals are the ones you can count on, I look forward to doing business with you,  and  being part of your success. "

I can not understand why businesses do not utilize the back of a buisness car. Have this on YOUR cards. refer a friend ----------------- friends name then another line that allows that client to write their name on the card. Works great  you arrive at the referall, they show you the card  bingo  you can take care of all parties involved.
