I noticed these listings from Monster.com.  I think its funny and interesting that monster is hiring for sales positions themselves from within their own listings! I'm new to this community and looks exciting to be apart of.  There seems to be a lot of information available.

(Notoriously)... don't know when to keep my mouth shut, and so I'm going to go out on a limb here and be critical of Monster (*waits for lightning bolt*...).

I understand that Monster would want to use its own tool to make new hires. I guess as much as anything, I'm disappointed. I feel like they ought to be able to do this more efficiently, given their intimate knowledge of their own system. Also, something about the approach seems unprofessional. Maybe if they chose between promoting their open positions to the top of every list and revenue dollars from advertising to me every time I clicked through a function (submit resume, even login!), I would be more forgiving, but it feels like overkill. Maybe a sustainable answer lies in offering options to users; might some be willing to trade lost revenue for less advertising? How about helping me customize the ads I do get? Theoretically, there's more value for advertisers that way, too, and it all goes into the user DB under preferences, etc., anyway, so there's little marginal cost for information gathering and processing...

Just a thought ;-)
