Some seem to be absolutely "born as a natural" to sell anything.  While others cling to procrastination in getting the job assignment completed.    Do you think sales is an under-rated profession by our society and our society does not recognize the diligence of a "hard working, goes to work" sales person?   What do you do?  "I'm in sales".  Get a reaction?

With a diverse background of management, marketing/sales, and business ownerships; all of the aforementioned are indepth in fulfilling and applying your strength and knowledge in sales.

Most people don't understand sales. Some know it's hard. Some know you can make lots of money. Most don't understand there are techniques involved.

With the way the economy is going right now I think there is going to be an increase in sales. People want to take control of their future and how much they earn. They also want their income to increase along with the price of inflation. It's hard to do without a sales job.

Thanks and have a blessed day!

As someone who is relatively new to sales, I chose this because of the ability to make my own destiny. I realized that being confined to someone else's ideas and concepts, did not work for me. I am an independent thinker and I prefer to work that way as well, also I like being on my own in that I don't have to get involved in office politics or gossip. Fortunately, the company that I recently began working with, I am the only person in my area, so I am given a lot of free reign. I really hate those feelings of self doubt when I call on customers I don't know much about, but I love the feeling of success when I triumph over them.

Amazing, the other day I was speaking with 4 owners of companies in our area.My question to them all .What do you do with training and continuing education with the sales force. Each one shook their heads ,said we talk about budget.Who  is on the cash only and who we can charge .

Each related  it is all about relationships their sales people have with the clients. It has to be who is the cheapest in town. Especially during this economic crunch time.

I have also spoken with a number of service /sales companies.Asked them the same question.Same results.

When pressed to see if any would be interested in a round table discussion with other sales people. The first question to be asked. What kind of sales?

I wonder how can these people run a business. I also know they have no knowledge in how much it costs to run their own business.Otherwise they would have known it does not matter what is being sold.It does not matter if it tangible or intangible. The same stratagies are used in all types of business. The service companies said I don't understand. The companies who do use salesmen said I do ont understand.

I then proved my point to each one. How it can help in the growth department of each company. From the restaurant owner ,hardware manager to supply houses.Still they see no point in getting together to share information.

Many will enter into the world of sales. Many will leave the world of sales. The reason no support from companies who employ them. Many will call themselves sales people. They are not. Being a saleman is a dirty word to most.

I am a salesman.I strive to learn as much as I can wherever I can. I enjoy overcoming an objection I have never heard.I enjoy obstacles standing in the way, only to be set aside.

I am here to learn and help others in search of information. With everyone having a common goal we should be able to help one another grow in our professional and personal lives.

first and formost  yes its training ... ongoing and if most sales folks know that they can do that on their own.  second ya i love being independent my time my money.  but when people ask me what i do for a living i tell them im a business consultant  or i help businesses grow    i sell ad speicialty and promotional items, help businesses plan events, hold functions. i do a lot but ya its all sales holding their hands walking them through it ect, but when all is said and done i get paid for it   tada lolol  i love sales and all it offers and i read a ton all the time. next time you got a call to make read the morning paper  then you can walk in and say wowo i heard about that  _________ fill in blank  then they know you about their area or business or whatever  folks love that   finally it always comes down to one thing in any sales postion      " its like and trust" do they like you and do they trust you  period
