It's the one that we all use.  Please share some success stories and what you think everyone should be spending their time on when it comes to LinkedIn.

I don't really see the point of LinkedIn. Has it helped anyone you know of been helped through it? No one I know of.. it just lacks so much to make it worthwhile. I mean, at least this site has forums and articles and stuff.

The verdict is still out on LINKed In.

I have spent many hours on there - my network has grown, but it is very hard to reach people that are a true value to me. It has potential- the names of clients, customers, and etc. that I wish to communicate are all on there- but the process is getting tiresome. Also they are constantly puming me for a paid memebrship- gosh I hope Sales HQ is different.

I have an account but don't find it to be very social.  Just a rolodex.  A lot of my coworkers are on facebook.

LinkedIn is a solid business tool that most executives in my industry use. No - there are no true forums, but you can join groups that have them. Where I find it most useful is in gettting a name. LinkedIn allows users to search people by company, and the profiles all include a title. I have had great results finding exactly the person that I want to speak with. It will also let you know if any of your contacts know this person, enabling you to network through them.

I am new to this site, and can see some value. My opinion is that it's a little too much like a social networking site (Facebook, My Space, etc.), with a younger user base and limited experience.

i don't know how to use facebook but I do like linkdin....I think the search capabilites are very helpful, and I have had sucess from it discovering new companies and being introduced by people I actually know.  I think its good...I am not sure there is a networking site which could be bad for you, unless you use it in a way which reprsents you poorly.....

Here's a really interesting business blog post I read on BBC about LinkedIn and it's role in the recession. Will it go under or be incredibly valuble?

LinkedIn..never heard of it.  I just went to the site..looks like it might be interesting.  This is actually the first networking site I've ever been on.
