COMPENSATION...WHAT?

Posted 4 months ago I was just wondering, based on the compensation guidelines that were presented on this site how do you go about getting that rate of pay. For example if being a telesales rep with 5-9 years experience it says on an average you should make about $30 some thousand a year. I have been in this idustry now for 7 years I wish I made that much. Should I go to bigger fishes or should I try and negotiate a better pay? |

| Posted 4 months ago Hey there, With every industry of course there are differences by state...the salary guide is a national average. You should totally negotiate a raise though! You've put in 7 solid years! |

| Posted 4 months ago Hopefully you have registered a log that you keep. This log will allow you to go into the meeting fully armed as to what you have accomplshed over the last seven years. You always need proof to prove that you have earned what you are asking to receive. | Posted 4 months ago Yes and it went great. You must present as you would to a client. You must create or convince them to give you the raise. How do you do this,by presenting what you have done and what you will continue to do while showing how you can help the company grow.It is your value to the company that will gain you the upper hand when asking for a raise .It is your responsibility too prove you are worth the money you are asking to receive. | Posted about 1 month ago I would also look at the company you work for. What do top reps make at your company.. because say you wanted to make X amount of dollars...if the company doesn't pay that much then good luck. It wouldn't hurt to ask for more though. I think you'll need to show them why as mentioned above...that's a good tip. I remember when I was younger I was working in Fundraising...I thought I was so overworked I went up to the VP's ofc and asked for raises for my entire department...and you know what? I got a whole $1 raise. I've found too, that if you ever leave a job and they really want to keep you...they'll usually give you something. I'd look at the skills you do have and see if their is a company out there that pays what you want. It might help you get a pay raise. |
