If "fun" is what your looking for in a job, than I think you need to focus on this in your job search.

I worked in a number of advertising and creative agencies in my career, and these have always been the most fun places to work for me.

The environment was creative and the people were open and beautiful. The trade-off was that upward career potential was limited. I'm sure there are other jobs that have these characteristics, but you need to actively seek them out as being one of your primary considerations when evaluating a company.

Don't worry Karolina!!!! Seriously I went through the same thing. Before Pharma I was working in a middle school part time for several years. I love kids but never loved the job. I even asked myself....is there something wrong with ME that I don't like this great and stimulating part-time job. I thought I just didn't like work. I started soul searching and felt that I wanted to go into a job with more flexibility and possibly in healthcare. I didn't know exactly where I was going but new what I didn't want. Sometimes that is the key. I made the switch and it really worked out for me.

It sounds like you having a hard time with management at your company. There are a lot of crappy sales companies for sure. Are you in the wrong one??? Don't give up hope!

Guys maybe you could help me out. I'm thinking of a job in sales but I dont have any experience "career-wise" in Sales. Could you give me a few pointers on where to start?

Currently I work in Auditing and not very happy there. I agree with you Sellerina on knowing what you don't like and not knowing what you may like. I guess knowing what you don't is half the battle though.

KarolinaM - my motto at work for the last while was Over-worked, Over-stressed, Under-paid (over-tired is in there too). The concept of getting paid for overtime is alien to me in this job. Lately, after watching the Pursuit of Happiness and hearing someone say the 3 F's - 40 hours a week, 40 years of your life and F*** all at the end of it made me start thinking about my current job.

So could you guys suggest a good place to start in Sales - bottom rung, whatever???

Hey OCD.. You should totally plan on leaving if you're not happy. Happiness is worth everything in life.

Its had to give advice...because sales is really diverse. Different fields require different education levels, or knowledge about products, others don't. I think this SalesHQ 10 step guide to getting a sales job is pretty helpful for someone in your position. But really before you start try to think about what things you like....do you like being in or out of the office, talking with people, working on the computer, etc. Also look at what you know about and if selling products or services makes sense.... keep seeking and you'll totally find your niche!
